Stop Food Waste Challenge
Stop Food Waste Communities
Stop Food Waste has been working with local authorities and other community based groups to promote our Stop Food Waste Challenge.
Through working with small groups of householders Stop Food Waste hope that people can come together, have some fun, reduce their food waste and ultimately save a few bob. The Stop Food Waste Challenge, which involves 4 one hour meetings held over 6 – 8 weeks, challenges Irish householders to reduce their food waste by 1/4.
The first Stop Food Waste Challenge, which formed the basis for RTE’s Waste Watchers TV programme, was run during the summer of 2013 in Killorglin, Co. Kerry. Since then, numerous local authorities and community groups around the country have got involved. Below is a map of some of the groups that have participated. If you are interested (or if you have been involved and your group is not on the map) then please Contact Us.
If you have taken part in a Challenge and want to stay in touch and continue learning about ways to reduce food waste join our Stop Food Waste Community Facebook Group.
