Dining Out Leftovers
Develop a doggy-bag habit
If you’re eating out and you want to leave room for dessert, say yes to leftovers and ask for what’s left on your plate to be packed up to take home. Bring your own clean receptacle to reduce the need for disposable packaging. Ask staff to include any leftover food from communal bowls at the table. They will probably be pleased to see your appreciation of the food. You will enjoy getting the most out of your meal out, and it may save you cooking the following day. Always store leftovers appropriately. Last remaining slices of bread from the table could be delicious toasted for breakfast the following morning.
Remember, it’s not being mean, it’s being green!
