Composting is an important way to manage organic materials locally. Stop Food Waste provides a variety of compost training supports to communities throughout the country to help them choose the right composting system for them.
We have been running the national Master Composter training course since 2009. The Master Composter programme usually involves 3 evening sessions and 2 weekend sessions over 6-8 weeks. Participants are trained on all aspects of home composting and, once trained, participants commit some of their time to help promote home composting and food waste prevention in their local communities.
We also provide shorter training courses based on the needs of interested communities. These can range from general training sessions for groups of householders to topic specific training that address the needs of community groups.
