The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has commissioned a food waste related project entitled: Reducing Commercial Food Waste in Ireland.
This project aims to provide this key information in terms of CFW generation in Ireland, and is examining individual sectors and food waste types, along with potential best practices, and innovative solutions, for its reduction. Work is being done with both individual companies and sectoral organisations within the identified sub-sectors in Ireland. Researchers are examining the reasons behind CFW and before trialling and assessing interventions to prevent and reduce CFW amounts. For more information, download the project brochure.
